OK, so here is my update.

WK 8 Day 1  (little over half way, correct?)

$63,095  + 136,209 = $199,304
(Cash I forgot to check on value of home, but it can't be much.  I have spent too much money on books and need to start selling them off, especially the duplicates.)

At top of Business career & working on Masterpiece.  Top of writing skill and about 35 books written.  Trying to decide if I should switch careers.  I try to do lots of meetings because a meeting (2 sim hours) = $750.  Not too bad!

I am off to bed.  I will check back in tomorrow!

Frank Frazetta's Centurian Solo Challenge has come to an end. What an incredibly prolific 100 days he had as a painter. Frank completed his 281st painting with only 15 minutes left on his 100th day! 65 of Frank's paintings were Brilliant and 80 were Masterpieces. Money Earned from Paintings: 1,074,900. Worth of Most Valuable Painting Sold: 8567.

Player                      Net Worth      +        Lifetime Happiness Pts       =        Total

Metropolis Man          1060088                   342661                                      1402749

Frank's score broke down as follows: 957953 in Household Funds and 102135 of Furnished Lot Value. And then the added Total Lifetime Happiness Pts Acquired.

I'm still shaking my head is disbelief at the amount of simoleans this guy cranked out from painting. I remember reading something about a fresco opportunity in one of Carl's writeups. Frank never received that opportunity, so it would be interesting to compare another painter and the total earnings if that opportunity was completed.

Oh, I almost forgot — last night with about 3 weeks left — Frank's life nearly came to an early end. He was upgrading his stereo system for better speakers and got electrocuted and singed in the process. He also set his painting room on fire. It was quite ugly. The strange thing is he had a Handiness skill level of 7 during the upgrade. Guess he just got unlucky.

Can't really think of any other highlights or lowlights worth mentioning from this painting machine's quick life. Hmmmmm....I wonder how many Autumn Salads Frank consumed? Smiley  Smiley

OK couple more weeks to go but here is my morning update

Wk 10 day 3
Player                      Net Worth      +        Lifetime Happiness Pts       =        Total
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honeymooners          $200,032                176815                                     376847

Making about $40,000 a week in royalties  I had her quit her job and then return to try to get the most out of the promotions but it has turned into a bad idea.  She is having an affair with a co-worker  (hey even loaners need love I guess)  I am trying to decided what to do to keep this interesting-  OK back to playing hoping to hammer out these last few weeks

OK I'm done!

Player                      Net Worth      +        Lifetime Happiness Pts       =        Total
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honeymooners          $598,671                    281,549                                  880,220

Solo sims are so easy - next time I want to try it but add a twist like a spouse or child   - things get trickier with more sims....

Nice job, Honeymooners! Since you and I are both finished I'll update the table at the beginning of this thread.

And you're right about solo sims — they are easy. But, since this was my first shot at creating a challenge I wanted to keep it simple. Stay tuned. I'm going to expand on this money making concept to a married couple. I'm just waiting for Pam and Carl to finish and I'll throw up the rules after that.

I suspect that I'm going to be living proof that a person can do poorly on this challenge.  I'm at week 7, day 1:

Money:  $41,633
Happiness:  46,111
Total:  87,744

I loved this challenge. It gave a purpose to trying to make as much money as possible. This is something I've never actually done. I chose to go with a writer as well. I selected the following traits:

Bookworm - increases writing ability
Loner - less need for social interaction
perfectionist - hope for more hits and best sellers at cost of speed
over-emotional - he's always going to be happy and this will keep lifetime happiness points rolling
couch potato - with the best chair and over emotional, he'll get a +62 bonus to mood while sitting at his desk

I really wasn't sure how this one would go at first. it seemed bleak. He started out with the best bed, desk and computer but everything else was crap and all he could eat was bread and jam. I saved all his money and invested in businesses around Sunset Valley. He eventually owned 10, and managed to get full ownership of a few. I stopped investing around week 9 because he wouldn't get a return on investment. As Honeymooner said I followed my own advice and didn't buy items that would depreciate in value.

My Sim specialized in Masterpieces, and wrote a total of 80 books. His peak income was $322,000 a week. Tomorrow I'll post the page I made detailing my work, but for tonight I'll just post his final stats:

2,089,050         cash on hand
   343,753         lifetime happiness
+   16,156         lot value
__________
2,448,959          points total

Thank you Metropolis, I really enjoyed it like I said. I look forward to someone beating me, we'll learn a lot if they log their experiences! Like I said I have a full page made devoted to this, and I'll publish it tomorrow. Screenshots are scant though, what could I do? take 50 pictures of him sitting at his desk?

Oh, man!  One of my Sim's boyfriends asked her to move in with him!  She had to say no because it's a solo challenge.  Bummer!
