How do you get this specific Photograph?
« on: March 26, 2011, 04:06:09 AM »
In the Photography skill journal, there is a photo that has eluded me for ages.
How do you get the "Photo of Photographer" photo?
I've tried hovering over the description of the photo in the Skill Journal, and there is no tooltip saying something like "capture a sim who has a skill point in photography"
I've tried Photographing my sims reflection, but that didn't work either.

Can anyone help?

I thought taking a picture of your Sim in the mirror would work.

Have other of your Sims gain a skill point in photography and then let the other take a photo of him. That should do the trick. Also, if you point to the ground, the camera will sometimes take it as a photo of photographer. Immediately click C and voila you have the photo of photographer, even if in reality it isn't. :)

Are you sure about that first bit, Chronic?  I don't see how someone else taking a picture of your Sim would give your Sim credit for the picture.  I admit, though, that I haven't completed many of the Photography collections, so I'm hardly an expert.

Sorry to cause a confusion, I am saying that if there is at least another Sim besides yours under your control, you can make the other gain a skill point in Photography, and that shall do the trick. Basically, the photo requires you to take a shot of another Sim who has skill point in Photography. Make other of your sims learn the skill and have the main Sim take the photo of the other. Of course, if the 'secondary' Sim in question is a family member, friend or a Sim in a specific career, it can conflict with the 'Photo of Photographer' description and instead show 'My Friend' or anything like that. In one of my Dynasty museum photos, my first generation is not noted in the photo description as the spouse of her husband, but a friend. So be careful with who you choose for that shot. Hope this makes sense. If any questions, let me know. This even works with SimBots! :)

Sorry, Chronic.  Thanks for clarifying.  That sound like a good tip for Seabody.

No worries, Pam. :) And please inform me if this worked, Seabody. For me it worked, wonder if it'll work for you too. Good luck.

I know this is an old topic, so I hope no one minds the revival, but I'm having trouble with this one.

It seems to need to catch someone else in the act of photographing.  I've got two sims, but I can't get the timing right. I tell them both to take pictures, and I can't get it to work right because it always snaps to one sim first.

I thought taking a picture of your Sim in the mirror would work.

Does anyone know if that's true?

Edit:  Whoops. . . sorry.  I didn't see this.  I'll give this a try.
