Posting Pictures
« on: September 29, 2009, 09:48:49 PM »
Note:  This is an older method for putting images on the Forum.  It is preferred that members use the new Carl's Sims 3 Image Gallery for posting screenshots to the Forum.  This older method can be used as a backup for members who have trouble with the Gallery, but it's not the preferred method.

Below the emoticons and other tools for posting, you should now see an 'Add image to post' link. This should allow you to browse to your image's location on your computer, rather than using photobucket. It will upload the file to a third party image hosting server and automatically add the code to display the image in your post. I hope this makes adding pictures more convenient. I didn't write this script, it was made by Sium and found on custom.simplemachines.org.

Please use the resize image option if you are posting directly from your Sims 3 screenshots folder, as a 640x480 image size will be ideal for posting in the forum. This should be the standard size for your posts. Too big, and you will get a thumbnail image with a link to view the full size. So please use 640x480 at all times. It's better for consistency. If you'd like to center the image, use the center align paragraph button first, then upload the image. Paste the image into the center tags afterward.  For example:

When I clicked add image, it added the code to the bottom of the post. I then cut and paste the img tag to put it in between the two center tags made by the center paragraph button.

Alternatively, you can add the image first, then select the code for the image with your mouse and click the center paragraph button (Thanks Pam).

If this won't work at all for you, please make a thread letting me know. It works fine for me, and I need to know if anyone is having serious issues. If it just won't work, refer to the thread here: http://carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=21.0

I'm testing the new image hosting system.  So far, so good.  It looks like you can also highlight the text of the code, then click on the center align button.  That also puts the image code inside the center align code.  Also looks like the ideal image size is 640 x 480 for message boards when using this tool.

This is a picture of my Sim Lessa teaching her 6th and last child how to walk.  So cute!

Nope.  Not a single cheat.  It's not impossible at all.  Take a look at the walkthrough I wrote for it and see what you think.  I'll be glad to answer any questions.

I'm having the same problem loading images.  I sent a message to Carl about it, so hopefully he'll get to it soon.  I'm just using Photobucket in the meantime.

The first time I tried just now, I got a Gateway Timeout.  But then it worked the second time.

Here we have two of the triplets, Lily and Daisy.

It seems as though they are having some server problems. I got a timeout uploading to their site. Also if you notice a picture is missing, at least while they seem to be having these issues, reload the page and it should show the pic because any others from them will be cached.
