This was much harder than I had first suspected but I finished! I think I had a good strategy but that my timing was off. I ended with 43 romantic interests. So not too bad but not as good as alot of you. I had 135+ friends though!

Thanks! I fixed the diagonal foundation and uploaded the house here. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=3073400 If it's not a hassle, please note how much is spent and I'll treat it like a loan to my legacy that I'll have them pay off. The walls inside the house are tentative, with plans for a master suite, etc. in the future. I just wanted to get some basic layout done. I'm telling you, this novice builder had a tough time translating the real life house plans into the sim world, with less flexibility for diagonal placement, etc! As always, I learned a lot by doing. And my compliments to our landscaping gurus for the gorgeous examples and fabulous tips! Edit: replaced the link Got it LlamaMama. Will work on it tomorrow. Tonight I destress with a book. Listening to dh help the kid with algebra makes my nerves fray. lol |

Tutorial Photo Tip: Use the Cheat fadeobjects off to stop trees and shrubbery fading, it helps get close-ups. Thank you Samoh! I did not know that and will put one more post it note on the pc now. lol That probably would have worked in my disappearing staircase too, huh? |

Thanks everybody. I truly can't think clearly enough to do my own CAW thing so restoration is my only option at the moment. I really am having fun doing this. It's quite a challenge to fit in some of the lots and even more so when you have crazy terrain. It annoys me when it says, can't place on unroutable terrain and then in the middle of nowhere, no roads or anything, there are all kinds of spaces for lots. It would be nice if we could do roads and stuff.
My alternate projects are finishing up and making lovely homes for the DaVinci folks. I had tried several different attempts before I got serious and did my last, final, and reported one, but I kept three of the other practices. Now they are all still working on their ltw of becoming a daVinci, but they have oodles of money for me to spend on their houses since I don't have to be getting rich for the challenge. And of course, there is the Dynasty challenge. That one I'm trying to do slow and carefully and not very much building there at the moment since my guys are still working on getting ahead. Hey, if anyone wants to jump on the Twinbrook Restoration Committee bandwagon, please do so! It would be great to see what you do and how you approach the terrain challenges. I'd love to share all that. Oh, and if you want, I can upload that house I built. Samoh, silly boy! Of course we want you to upload that house! DUH! (lol) Your houses are always great. |

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Sold! But seriously, will these items be available to buy individually at the Sims Store? I'd rather just buy the sign. |

I've wondered about that China painting opportunity. My level 2 painter was offered that too. I'm keeping my eyes open at the consignment store in hopes of buying a large painting that might turn out to be worth $750. Let me know if you try this and it works!

In addition to the stats page, I was thinking bring part of the apartment life over to your main home...what i mean is if you have a multi-person home, you should be able to make individual rooms theirs...not to the point that you cant see in them like apt life, but when you tell the kids to go to bed, they go to their rooms, that you have created for them...rather than the nearest bed to sleep. Also should be a couple new commands at a parents disposal, after all we have the "can household to eat" , why cant mom just yell "kids time for bed" and have all 3 kids stop what their doing and head to their beds...rather than individual clicks by us?
I would also like the list of stuff taught by parents to be a bit bigger...right now you can teach toddlers to walk abd talk, but parents teach so much more than that...when they become kids, give the parent to option (if they have the skill) to teach their kids subjects..."teach child gardening" maybe up to lvl 2 or 3, so the kids works beside mom/dad at weeding and watering the garden, same with fishing. And when they age up, add some more topics, like Handiness, Charisma, Writing and so on...give the kids a bit of a jump on the adult life they will have to deal with soon enough. |

Well I'm on the adventure where you have to beat the emperor. The thing is I will go down the stairs for the tap saying enter the Dragon Cave doesn't go away and I can't walk anywhere in the place. Where ever I click on the floor it says use the stairs but that just takes me above ground again. Is there something wrong with my game? Can this be fixed?

Has anyone had trouble registering Fast Lane? When I go to the EA online register page, The Sims 3 Fast Lane isn't on the list of games I can register. I registered it from the sims website. On the top under the heading "My Page" click on "My Account". Once on that page you can click on the third option which is register game. I was able to do it successfully. Or that is what it said to me at least after I put in my serial code. |

Just got back from shopping where I picked up a copy. Got it in JB HiFi (for you aussies) but their in store price was $10 more than the online price. Thing is, if I bought it online I would have to pay postage which probably would have been close to the $10 plus have to wait.
Anyway, it's installed and registered on the main site and I'm just about to dive in and take a look. ![]() Norma |
